Looks helpful, but how I handle it if notification triggering happened from other browser? Like example my case: I have video-meeting with chat. There are 2 people - creator and participant. I'm a creator and I shared my screen(new browser tab as example). And when participant sending message to chat, notification will be shown in right down corner in creator's browser. So I can't use line "document.getElementById" because in my autotest it's happened in another browser instance. Also I able to send message in chat by participant via api but i'm still didn't get how I can handle it for my case.

Thank you for this video. The real value of this is not whether Cypress or playwright wins, but really the learning from seeing both framework side-by-side. Both frameworks are excellent. My personal choice is playwright, but mostly because of the python support.

Interesting comment about XPaths not being allowed. Would admit possibly from poor inexperience people simply going into dev tool and copy XPath, yep you will get a completely crap selector like /node[4]/div[43]/div[3]/input[54] yep that is crap and should be discouraged. How ever i've seem the only way, especially with old legacy apps where we may not be able to get any help to get a decent locator, would assert i've seen it would be impossible to get a css selector to ever work. Just like anything else most things can be abused. Love to see a css or any other selector find a node, but you need to go to up two nodes and for a given node search down that subtree to find a given path to match i.e. //div[@data-testid='xyz']../..//div[@someAttribute='abc'] And yes i've had stuff where i needed to match nodes relative to one node that needed a given subtree. Might get it with a lot of brute force, but simple enough for an XPath. Then again besides noobs using bad/garbage XPath that i would even reject, what are the qualified/rational reason for no XPath.

I don't like having a testing framework being part of the automation system. I personally use ava for all my testing. So, I just want to have access to things like contained text and attributes (which I can get if I can get the element object), then handle the testing in whatever framework I choose.
